Dean Edge 6 Another eBay find, this thing is on the opposite end of the bass spectrum from the BeatleBass. Long scale (36"), active PUs, the dark, menacing type. Strap it on if you think your back can handle it or if you want to get in touch with your inner Les Claypool. The controls can generate sonic yield ranging from tin roof to fog horn. The 6-string has a low B and high C, with standard bass tuning in the middle. This bass was used for "20 year song" on we raise up our glasses, trying to conjure the spirit of Chris Squire (even though he's among the living). Note the plastic toy bull (saved from a bottle of Spanish wine) attached to the headstock by means of a boot string, and also the Planet Terror sticker on the back (see inset). The date of manufacture is unknown, but i'm certain she's a Taurus. |
