star travelers
star travelers as the daylight fails
and our backyard sky displays the universe
i’m dwelling on the now familiar tale
and the part where we declared for better or for worse
and if i spoke my mind i might declare
it’s getting better all the time
our little joyride here in the cosmos
sails another ring around the sun
our little solar system passing other systems by
narrowly missing every one
we’ve traveled far in our starry sea
and by next saurday where might we be
where might we be
we might sail over the moon
we might retreat into the twilight
might go nova too soon
leaving nothing but nebulae behind
what’s our heading what’s our course
maybe the quasars have a clue
traveling now in interstellar overdrive
we’ll know our destination the moment we arrive
the galaxy gleams like a shiny toy
we view it all together from the zenith of our joy
where might we be
